On Ascension / Hemelvaartsdag people usually get up around 5am for a bit of "dauwtrappen" (stepping on dew). Last year we did an early ride with the Fuccit crew, but this year we want to make it the AMS-RBX-PRS 2010 reunion! So on Thursday, May 13th 2010 we will all meet at 1pm on Arnhem Central trainstation, and Mitch and I (Votske) will take you all on a nice hilly ride over the Posbank. We’ll plan a short 30/40km ride and after that we can all have dinner together and share our photos and stories.

For the riders: everything you need to know!

Dear riders,

After a lot of calculating and hussling for campings, vans and sponsors, we made it possible to offer the ride for 150,- euros per person. Transfer the money BEFORE sunday March 14th to Rabobank number 103777261 to Jos van Dijk, this account will only be used for this ride (mail jos.van.dijk@live.nl for IBAN). This payment will NOT be returnable, once you’ve payed, it’s FINAL! This is because of the fact we’re using the money to pay the campings etc in advance. If you’ve payed and you can’t ride, you can sell your spot in consulation with the organisation.
This payment is without food, drinks and the trip back to Holland. The following van will packed as full as possible on the way back home, but not every bike and bag will fit.

Important facts:

Find a buddy to sleep with in your tent. We’re with a 30 people crew and we’ve booked the campings for 15 tents.

We will provide a van for all the luggage and tents and a following car for the people that fall out during the ride.

It’s your own responsibility to make sure your bike, your clothing, your condition, your choice of gears, your insurances and your condoms.

If you can’t continue the ride due to unrepearable damage to your bike, the organisation will make sure that you will be brought to the nearest trainstation back home.

We won’t take care of the food, due to all the different diets and strange stuff some people like, or don’t like to eat. We will provide routes to supermarkets near to the campings.

Take enough fast carbon hydrates, mars bars, sugar or other energy bars with you for along the way, so your muscles will get enough energy during the ride!

Flat tires will be fixed, thanks to the sponsoring of Pristine. Before the ride you can buy new parts for your bike at Pristine with a 20% discount.

Campings have been booked, following cars have been booked and besides that, we found some other sponsors.

Several sponsors will give us nice stuff that will be handed out at the start in a real goodie bag!

Leader Bikes USA offers us a really, REALLY nice discount on their European collection (mail: thomas.bouyeure@gmail.com for models, prices and dellivery times).

This is what we’ll be doing:

9 april: Amsterdam – Essen
10 april: Essen – Waregem
11 april: Waregem – Roubaix – Waregem
12 april: Waregem – Saint Quentin
13 april: Saint Quentin – Meaux
14 april: Meaux – Paris
15 april: Paris
16 april: Paris. At the end of the afternoon the organisation will get back to Holland with the following vans. You’re free to stay longer in Paris, or travel further, but this will be without the supervision of the organisation.

The good cause:

The good cause where the money that is left in the end is going to is"Bicycles for
Humanity". It seemed very logical to ride for a bike related good cause. You can check their website for more information about what good things this organisation does in Africa.
In the end we won’t have millions of euros left, so we would liek to ask everybody to ask their parents, friends, your boss, and every you showed your school report to when you were young to donate money for this good cause.

Voor de deelnemers: Alles wat je moet weten!

Beste deelnemers,

Na veel rekenen en offertes aanvragen voor campings, volgauto’s en sponsoren, hebben we het voor elkaar gekregen om de kosten te drukken tot 150,- euro per persoon. Maak je geld VOOR zondag 14 maart over op rabobank nummer 103777261 t.n.v. Jos van Dijk, deze rekening
gebruiken we alleen voor deze rit. Deze betaling is NIET terug te vragen, deze betaling is DEFINITIEF! Dit aangezien we de betalingen gebruiken om de campings van te voren te betalen. Als je al betaald hebt, en uiteindelijk niet mee kunnen fietsen, dan kun je je plek verkopen in overleg met de organisatie.
Het bedrag dat je betaalt is wel zonder eten en drinken en de terugreis. De
bagagebus proberen we zo vol mogelijk te stoppen op de terugweg, maar niet elke
fiets zal meekunnen.

Belangrijke punten:

Zoek een slaapmaatje voor in je tent. We zijn met 30 mensen, en de campings
zijn besproken voor 15 tenten.

Wij zorgen voor een bus/bestelwagen voor bagage, en een volgauto voor de mensen die onderweg pech mochten krijgen.

Je bent zelf verantwoordelijk voor het op orde zijn van je materiaal, je fietskleding, je
conditie, je verzetkeuze, je verzekeringen en je condooms.

Mocht je niet meer meekunnen door dermate grote schade aan je fiets, dan
zal de organisatie zorgen dat je op de trein naar huis gezet wordt.

Eten regelen we niet, door de 8 verschillende dieetkeuzes die we al zijn
tegengekomen, daarom zullen we zorgen voor routebeschrijvingen naar supermarkten in de
buurt van de campings.

Neem genoeg snelle koolhydraten, marsrepen, suiker en
andere energierepen mee zodat je onderweg niet verzuurt.

Lekke banden worden natuurlijk verholpen, en dankzij de sponsoring van
Pristine wordt dit voor je bekostigt. Je kunt voorafgaand aan de reis bij Pristine alle nieuwe onderdelen die je nodig hebt voor je fiets met 20% korting kopen!

Campings zijn besproken, de volgauto’s zijn geregeld, en een aantal
sponsoringen zijn daar buiten om geregeld.

Er worden door meerdere sponsoren nog items gegeven voor in een heuse
goodybag, die krijg je bij de start.

Leader Bikes USA biedt als sponsoring een eenmalige hele dikke vette
korting op het Europese aanbod (mail: thomas.bouyeure@gmail.com voor de
modellen, prijzen en levertijden).

Het volgende gaan we doen:

10 april: Essen – Waregem
11 april: Waregem – Roubaix – Waregem

14 april: Meaux – Paris

16 april: Paris. Aan het einde van de middag zal de organisatie met de volgauto’s terug naar Nederland gaan. Je bent uiteraard geheel vrij om nog langer te blijven in Paris, of verder te reizen. Dat gebeurt dan echter wel zonder de begeleiding van de organisatie.

Het goede doel:

Als goede doel waar al het geld heengaat dat we overhouden is "Bicycles for
Humanity". Het leek ons het meest logisch om te fietsen voor een goed doel met
fietsen. Check de website voor meer informatie over het goede werk wat deze organisatie in Afrika verricht.

Nu houden we van het geld dat jullie betalen natuurlijk geen miljoen euro
over, dus we willen iedereen vragen om buren, baas, papa, mama, oom, tante, en
ieder ander die je vroeger ook je rapport liet zien ook voor te leggen dat ze
geld kunnen doneren voor dit goede doel.
